Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

Foreclosure-saale of property

I was working with the Housing Assistance Services in California when I received a letter from a Brian Parry, attorney informing me that my house would be sold on

Monday April 18 at 1230. I paid housing assistance almost nine hundred dollars to help me. Today I received a call from housing assistance saying I needed to seek out an attorney because American General Lending, Layton Utah had denied all efforts for repayment plans that should have stopped the sale., In fact, it was recomended about 1600 to find an attorney and file a chapter 13 bankruptcy. No attorney in at this time. What should I do and what can I do?

Re: Foreclosure-saale of property

If you can't pay the money owed for back payments, not can make a payment agreement, your only choice would be to file bankruptcy, which would stop the sale. However, you have to file the documents with the bankruptcy court before the actual sale. If the house goes to foreclosure, you may have a right to redeem the house from the sale.
