Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah
Government seizure of property
My grandfather had a Uranium mine back in the 50's and the government took it but never compensated him for it. I know they can legally take the property but I thought they have to compensate with the fair market value? If this is correct what are we able to do to get them to pay up on the property?

Re: Government seizure of property
1. Prove title was in grandfathers name
2. Prove the government took it without paying him
3. Prove the value of the property at the time of taking
4. Prove the present value of the property
5. Prove who the heirs are, if grandfather is not alive.
6. Prove you are exempt from any statues of limitations on the time to file for redress.
