What legal standings do Home Owners Associations have? As part of this question, what legal standing do home owners have in regards to Home Owner's Associations?

Re: Home Owners Associations

The power of a home owners association is established in the operating agreement or similar document which should have been recorded with the County Recorder. The HOA has only the powers set forth in the agreement.

Members have all rights and powers not delegated to the HOA, plus their constitutional rights (i.e., due process, notice, etc.)
