Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

Our husband and I live in a low income apartment with our 1 year old son. We've been there for over a year, and our rent has always been the same to our knowledge. Just a few days ago, we received an eviction notice saying that we owe back rent and that if we don't pay we must move out in the next 3 days. We have no way of paying how much they want, our landlord told the owner that she gave us plenty of notices about our rent changing when we never heard about it till that eviction notice... I'm not sure as if this is legal for them to do as well as how to go about it?! And Am I obliged to pay them the back rent we never knew about?

If notice was reasonably given you will have to pay the arrearage. You can protest by filing an objection with the court.
