Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

lease after move out

We moved out of our a apartment and gave them all the notice due in the lease and we never heard from the leasing agency. We just received a letter from an attorney saying we owe charges that we have no idea how they came up with. We believe we may owe a bit but there is no documentation from them. what do we do?

Demand a detailed accounting of all of the charges. If you do not agree, try to negotiate with the attorney (who you will not speak with, but to one of his collectors). If that does not work, then try to get the case into court and tell the judge your side of the facts.
