Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

i live in utah.This question is about property abandonment.Someone i know left some things at my house over a year ago.I told him over the phone a year ago that he needs to get it out of my house.It finally took so long that i sold the stuff.Now he is saying he wants to press charges.Can he even do that?His stuff was left at my house!

If you gave him notice to remove the property and he failed to do so; and if you gave notice of your intent to sell, then it is unlikely that you would be held liable for the disposal of the property. You may be required to pay him for what the property was sold for, less reasonable storage and costs of sale charges for the time you had the property.
