if your mortgage contract states that

you will pay your own property taxes.

Can the mortgage company turn

around a pay your taxes for you and for

you to have an escrow account with

them?

The mortgage note and the associated documents form a contract, the terms of which state what each party can do. You or an attorney would have to read all of the documents to decide whether there are conditions under which the lender could establish the escrow account.
