Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah
I was a real estate broker in Utah and my license was revoked by Judge Steven Ecklund, Dept of Real Estate, Commerce Dept. State of Utah in 1991. I requested a hearing before the commissioners. When I went to the hearing, the two investigators in the case were present. I told the commissioners what had happened and they chastised the investigators and told them that I was within my legal rights in the case and my license was re-instated. One of the investigators, John Brown, had a particular hate for me and published the revocation in several Utah newspapers. This is never done in Utah. It's unheard of. I see now when I search my name, there is a Deseret News article published by Google News telling about the revocation. This has tainted my reputation and caused my family to disown me. I want to sue someone for the original breach of justice and the newspapers who published it and Steven Ecklund (whom I never once met or saw) for destroying my reputation. The case involved a colonel in the Air Force who sold me an apartment building and failed to tell me that it had been deemed a fire hazard by a city inspector for faulty electrical wiring and needed $40,000 in work to bring it up to code. I was told this by the building manager who was now out of a job. I did a quit claim deed back to the colonel and told him I was walking away and he had lied to me. The real estate commission said that I should have given back collected rents during the time I owned the building. The 12 commissioners told the investigators at the post-decision hearing that, under state law, I had no obligation to give back any monies collected. My license was re-instated immediately by the commissioners. At a later time, state investigator John Brown saw me and laughed in my face and told me that he had written the article and put it in all the newspapers. I want retribution.

If this occurred in 1991 the statute of limitations has expired. Sorry.
