Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

I recently separated from my boyfriend of about a year and a half. My things are still in our house, and the local police officers told me that since I signed a lease to the house I had the right to go to the property and retrieve my things. I told my ex boyfriend and my landlord this, and they destroyed the lease with my signature on it and created a new lease with only my ex boyfriend's name on it. I do have some proof that I signed the lease, but not a copy of the lease. I have several text messages from him telling me I need to pay my half of the utilities that I agreed to pay when I signed the lease. I know I signed it. Can I press charges for this? Is this a crime?

You can get an order of the court to get your property. If he is or was abusive you may be able to get a protective order and an order for your property at the same time.
