Death Threats

If someone sends you via texting on your cell phone a death threat multiple time what are the legal actions one could take and what are generally the sentences to the offender if the court case is won?

You should first notify the police. Second obtain a restraining order against that person. The police should investigate and if there is a crime, the local procecuting attorney would prosecute. The restraining order gives you the right to request intervention from the police if the person repeats the threats.
