Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Utah

roomate lays naked on bed

i am living in a complex with l girl roomate i am girl

and when i came home one nite my roomate was on the

bed naked and hurried and thru a sheet over her, it

startled her, and then a few min. later here out of

my bathroom comes a boy only with boxers on. i was

mortified and i am very naive, and i don't accept this

kind of stuff going on in a appt. that i also pay

for my share of the room. i want to get out and

the owner says i signed a lease and am responsible

until i fill my space, bull, i feel i was harrazzed

by opening my door, and no boys are allowed.

what can i do? i want out bad. it bothered me alot.

Check the language of your lease, it probably prohibits illegal or immoral acts. Although fornication is no longer prosecuted, it is still against the law. Tell your roommate that if it happens again you will have her evicted. In the meantime, try to find someone to take over your lease. Your roommate is the one who broke the rules and she should be the one to bear the responsibility. Note: the language of the lease sets forth the terms which both of you have to abide, so read it carefully.
