Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Utah
Sexual Harassment Case..Do I need an Attorney?
Dear Sirs,
My charge against my former employer has been accepted by the UALD & EEOC. Do I need to contact an attorney? I can fax you all the information, if you are interested in giving me advice.
Do to the hostile work environment & retaliation, I was forced to quit my position at the place of work on 05/30/03 and I did not find good employment until 07/08/03. I would like to at least be paid for the wages I had lost due to this. I had been employed at said place for approximately 9 months.
Thank you for your time

Having your materials accepted does not mean you have a case. The UALD will notify you of whether your claim is considered valid or not - after they have a chance to investigate. If they notify you that your claim is considered valid, a mediation opportunity is offered. If no settlementis reached, you may request a "Right to Sue" letter, after which you can file suit in Federal court (within 90 days after letter.) You are not required to have an attorney, but due to the technical nature of these kind of claims, it is advisable to have an attorney. You may call for a free consultation. (801) 876-4422
