Legal Question in Social Security Law in Utah
i am on ssdi and im not suppose to have a payee but my parents have taken my benefit card and forced me to put money into an account in their name... can they be charged?

Yes they can be charged. If there is no payee other than yourself, your parents need to contact social security if they believe that they should be appointed. It is not their decision to make unilaterally, and they have no legal right to take possession of the money without an order from Social security or a Court. I suspect that they believe that are doing what is in your best interest, but they still need to follow the rules.
