My cousin and I purchased a house together which we intended to fix up and rent. My partner lost his day job and moved back home with his parents to save money. He has left me alone in the house until it shortsales or forecloses as we could no longer make the payments. He has since started working again, but feels I should pay all the property taxes since I am living in the home. I feel he still owns half the house and should pay 50%. What should I do?

You are getting the benefit of use of the house, it is reasonable that you pay something for that benefit.
