Unpaid parking tickets do not usually just go away. Usually, you can only dispute a parking citation if it was not proper. I would call and see if they can reduce it some, or most of it, since the fine has increased for failure to pay. It sounds like the city already sent you to collections and now you are dealing with the collection agency. They can file a civil suit to collect and demand you appear or receive a bench warrant. In the end, they can attempt to garnish your wages, etc.
