Re: death of trustee

The trust document should identify the next trustee, often called a substitute trustee, or if not named a procedure set forth to choose the new one. If the trust has neither of these then all of the vested beneficiaries (those who have an immediate right to inherit) should choose a trustee and have that choice confirmed by a court of competent jurisdiction.
