Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah
My father passed away three months ago. He had established a family trust. My understanding is that his properties were to go to his wife (not my mother) and that when/if she is deceased, the property belongs to his three living children. I have not received any communication from the trust attorney. Do I have a right to a copy of the trust? I know my name is included. Also, do I have responsibility with regard to the trust for taxes, etc.? He owned four homes and I am concerned about his wife not being able to pay taxes or the mortgages on his rental properties.

You can ask for a copy of the trust, but the trustee, whomever that is, is not obligated to give you a copy.
You have no personal responsibility for trust expenses or debts.
If the trust cannot pay the taxes, then the trust can probably sell one or more of the properties to pay expenses.
