Financial responsibility for burial
My stepdaughter's biological father is soon to pass away from illness and wants to know if she is responsible for burial fees if this happens. They have had little contact over the last 20 yrs, he is indigent and will leave no estate behind, was not military or government employed and ,as far as we know, has no other income or financial holdings. Any help would be great.

She is not responsible for his burial costs. He can be buried at the expense of the county where he died.
