Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah
intestate/claim against an estate
Could someone please tell me if this seems normal:
deceased dies intestate. 5 1/2 months later (2 1/2 since personal representative elected) the lawyer has still not filed a claim to the estate on behalf of the children, also for past due child support, for continued child support (or interim family maintenance), has not requested the inventory list, etc... The lawyer has not even confirmed (by forwarding any documents to us) that the estate is a ''formal'' administration, as we had requested or we would have wanted a different person elected as personal representative. Also, the lawyer, has never sent a written client/lawyer agreement? What are the deadlines for these claims and how should we proceed?

Sounds like your lawyer is not working very hard. You can always get another lawyer. Call for a free consultation.
