Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

Probate

My Mom died in Texas and left my sister and I some money. I am the executor. Before we could close probate however, my sister a resident of Utah, has just passed away. My attorney says if sister had a will then her husband gets her share of Mom's estate. If there was no will then her only adult child gets it as the heir apparent. Is this correct? Thank you!

Re: Probate

Husband gets money only if the sister has a will which makes the husband beneficiary of your sister's share. The child gets the sister's share if no will.
