Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

My son was an executor in a will. his grandmother passed and he has not heard anything about it and she has been deceased almost a year. his uncle was also an executor. what does he do now? we think the money is gone/

Your son or the uncle should file probate proceedings and be named the personal representative ("PR"). The PR is responsible for assembling all of the debt and assets, then paying the debt and distributing the assets to the heirs according to the will.
