time to settle an estate

is year to long for settlement of an estate, where as there was no real estate etc. taxes,all bills are paid is there a recourse to follow in getting this settled.

A year to probate a simple estate does seem a bit long, ,but there are reasons for the process to drag on longer than we might think appropriate. If there were complications that arose, or if the attorney is slow in getting things done, a simple probate can easily take a year or more. I would be putting pressure on the personal representative to finish everything by now, especially if you know that there have been no complications.
