What are the consequences/legal ramifications to a trustee if they fail to comply with the conditions/terms outlined in a trust?

The trustee can be held personally liable for any breach of his/her trustee obligation. An action for an accounting can be brought by one or more of the beneficiaries wherein the trustee is required to show what actions he/she took; if there is a material breach of his/her trustee duties, the trustee will have to reimburse the trust and will probably be relieved of his/her trustee position.
