Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

My wife has a durable unlimited power of attorney for her 94 year old grandmother. It is notarized and witnessed. The rest home told here it was not a legal document, why?

I don't know why they would say it is not a legal document. I do know that they are not required to recognize it, at least in Utah. The problem with durable powers of attorney is that more and more institutions, including banks, are refusing to acknowledge them. Call me if you need a more detailed explanation of what to do.
