Legal Question in Disability Law in Vermont

reasonable accomodations

I am an employee of a public school. I asked my employer in Sept.to park closer to the front door of the school because of emphysema. My boss said I had to get a handicap sticker even though I wasn't parking in handicap space.

Do I have to provide Dr. note for evidence of disability?

Re: reasonable accomodations

As a general rule, under the Americans with Disabilities Act, anytime an employee requests any sort of accommodation to a nonapparent disability, the employer can request proof of the disabling condition and the need for accommodation.

This is not necessarily the same thing as what your employer seems to be seeking from you. You may want to explore what the employer needs to have and be willing and able to provide proof of your condition and the need for accommodation.
