Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Vermont
Jeep Ownership
Last fall I asked a garage to work on my old jeep. They did not have time but said they would park it out of the way and would try to get to it sometime. I said that was fine. Over the winter I told one of his employees in coversation he might as well ust junk it (the jeep). I now have a friend who is interested in it. I went to get it and the owner of the shop said since it had been on his land for so long he considers it his. The title is still in my name. Do I have the right to go and take it off of his land? It is at his place of business not his place of residence.

Re: Jeep Ownership
Vehicle ownership passed through title. If you didn't transfer title, and got no money for it, the vehicle is still yours.
On the other hand, your JEEP was taking up space on his land, and he might be entitled to some compensation for it, since you admit you told him to junk it.
