Legal Question in Family Law in Vermont
Child Custody Amount
My wife and I have two children. We have joint custody, and I pay a relatively small amount of child support.
I usually have the kids more then my share (which I enjoy), and I would like to pay nothing, but my ex-wife intentionally stays under employed to receive benefits, support etc.
I would like to do away with the monthly payments, but I'm afraid if I try it will back fire on me and I'll have to pay more instead.
What do you think?

Re: Child Custody Amount
If you are paying a small amount of support, it may end up costing you more to try to get it reduced than it is worth. You will have to prove that she is voluntarily underemployed which could take some work, and she is always free to come back to court to modify the support.
Maybe it is best to let sleeping dogs lie.
