Legal Question in Employment Law in Vermont
Same sex workplace hostility and harassment
I work in an office that employs 10 women, including myself. I have a supervisor who harasses me and is downright hostile towards me on a regular basis. The office manager is very wishy-washy and is no help. Although I received a glowing evaluation for the past two years, the manager will not back me up. Are there any laws governing harassment and hostility between people of the same sex? I have been backed into a corner by my supervisor and don't know what to do next. I really love the work I do. The director of human resources and my manager have been friends and worked together in this place for over 30 years. I have only been there for 2 years. HELP!!

Re: Same sex workplace hostility and harassment
Yes -same sex harassment is illegal ( even if the person is of the same sexual orientation).
You need to sit down with an employment law specialist in the county of your employer (or within 10-25 miles distance).
If you email me your location I can help you locate the proper attorney practicing in this area.
Delay will hurt your case, so take action quickly.
