is a landlord responsible for damages to my veichle, if they have not fixed huge holes in my driveway after we have informed them of the problem for well over a year

The law of tort has not developed in India well. Moreover, a litigation of this type will years before you may get any fruit. Please be at peace and forget about damages. Be careful in future and ask your landlord politely to remedy the situation.
Litigation and courts should be the last resort; we should not think of a court-case at the first available opportunity. The courts are already crowded with litigation, many of the cases involving trifle wrongs/offences.
