Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Vermont

Sexual Harrassment

I recently took a position as an Assitant General Manager of a Days Inn. My boss and owners daughter made very strong comments in regards to her being frustrated with her marriage and the lack of passion. She then proceded to ask if I would be attracted to someone like her. She talked about her feeling close to me and mentioned my eyes. She then sent me an email displaying what her singles ad would read if she were to see what was available and in it was a reference to my nick name Big Daddy and also leading questions inquiring if there were any takers. In this email she also guarenteed a lifetime of employment in the hospitality industry! I resigned my position after only two weeks!! OUr face to face conversation took place on MY FIRST DAY. Ever conversation I had with The GM was uncomfortable and hints as sex were always present. I had no recourse since She was the highest rank at hotel and her father was the owner. Is there anything here. I HAD to leave for fear that my future was unsecure.

Re: Sexual Harrassment

Doubtful. It's hard to make out a claim that you were sexually harassed without a quid pro pro (you do this for me, your job/benefits, etc. won't be taken away) since you were only there for two weeks. The cases are difficult enough to bring without those handicaps.

You can go ahead and file an EEOC case, but the damages would be minimal and there's not even long enough track record to have given them a chance to "stop doing the bad thing."

A local attorney may tell you differently (or may know something about the place which makes the case more viable), but on the surface, there doesn't look to be enough here.
