Legal Question in Traffic Law in Vermont

Alcohol diversion program

My son was on a ski trip 2 years ago. A few of the boys where caught with beer in the hotel, none of them were driving but they were under age. As soon as we received a letter from the alcohol diversion center we ( i along with my son) immediatly made an appt for a screeing, he wrote an essay and sent $150.oo to the diversion center. We went to the screening, the counselor came out shook my and my son's hand and said he would be sending the results to Vermont. More than 6 months later we get a letter from Vermont stating that he did not comply with the recommendations, we were confused to say the least. This went back and forth for a while, it also seems that the screening counselor was no longer at this facility so we could not speak to him. I was in contact the whole time with people in Vermont. One of the gentlemen from the alcohol diversion center in Vermont okayed my son to go to another counselor which he did.My son was in school full time so he went on friday, the diversion people non- complied him 2 days prior even though they knew he was going and the counselor sent them proof. We plead not guilty to this. Does it pay to fight this we have a court date next week? what does this have to do with his license?
