Legal Question in Veterans Law in Vermont

I'm currently working for the Fed Gov. I'm on lightduty due to a knee injury that happened on the job.
I department said they would allow light duty for a short time and would have to seek employment else where if I can't return to full duty. I'm a 60% disabled vet. I applied for Voc Rehab, which was granted but I need to be gainfully employed during the transition from job ''A'' to job ''B''. I'm I protected from being fired from job ''A''
