Legal Question in Disability Law in Virginia

Ada

I am a teacher and diabetic. My dr. advised me to wear good shoes, like tennis shoes, and less restrictive dress to work in when I teach. The only policy we have stated on dress code is to dress ''professionally''. I was recently evaluated at work and was told I needed to dress more professionally despite my medical condition and need to have a modified dress for myself. What do I need to do besides have my dr. write a letter?

Re: Ada

Other than what you've proposed, I would have nothing to add. (However, I have some doubts as to whether a case of mild diabetes would qualify as a life altering illness which would necessarily be covered under the ADA.)
