Blood Sugar Levels in the Workplace

I have type 1 diabetes and was told that there is a law (I am not sure if it is national or local to VA) that states if my blood sugar levels go above 300 I can leave work and not have to worry about being fired or written up. Is this true? My levels were very high last week and when I told my mananger about this he laughed and told me to get back to work. I ended up in the emergency room that night.

I know of no such law.
