the father of my child and I are not living together and he has filed for social security benifits haw can I find out if he is getting it for our child

Why not ask him? Better yet, file a petition for child support at your local Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court and during the course of getting a support order entered, you are almost certain to obtain the correct information on this particular issue.
