our son drives a car owned by us and was caught with mariguana seeds in a baggie in his car on school grounds during a random dog search. Is this legal without our permission to search the car?

Re: vehicle searches
Once a police hound trained to alert on the odor of marijuana, mainifests such an alert on a target
vehicle, then the cops have probable cause to search the vehicle for the drug contraband.
Therefore, the answer to your quesion regarding the legality of this search must be in the affirmative (in my opinion).
