Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Virginia

reason for fault in suit

An intoxicated girl ran her bike off a sidewalk into my freinds parked car and is suing him for $22,000. I'm not even sure how he's found at fault. He thinks it's because he didn't respond to the suit in time. That doesn't seem right. Can he appeal this judgement?

Re: reason for fault in suit

Appeal or move to have the judgment vacated or set aside---if there's time for either.

Time is of the essence with these kinds of matters and he should get on it NOW--and likely consult with an attorney to determine the preferable course of action.
