How can you remove a underage citation from your record? How long does it have to stay on your record?

Underage possession is a misdemeanor offense and therefore may now be expungable under Va. Code Sec.19.2-392.2(C)before an action to expunge may be initiated.
There is no particular time period of which I am aware that requires the record of the conviction to remain on a defendant's record.
