Legal Question in Banking Law in Virginia
Banking Garnishment
Hello, a judgement has been placed against me. I have my paycheck deposited into my wife's checking account; however i am not on the account. Can the account be garnished? What about any other account she would open (no direct deposit)?
Thank you

Re: Banking Garnishment
She can't be immediately and directly garnished. But she could be sued to recover the fraudulent transfers, and then garnished (or the funds attached pre-judgment with an appropriate showing). And of course, they can garnish your paycheck directly.
