Legal Question in Banking Law in Virginia
Banking - Unauthorized credit check
My father bought a house for a friend who couldn't qualify for the mortgage. The house is under my father's name ohly, and his friend rented the house to a couple. Recently an employee from a financial institution called my dad telling him that all the papers were ready and he just needed to sign, and he didn't know what she was talking about. Turns out, the couple went to her to refinance the house saying it was ok with him. So she ran his credit and began the paperwork without his consent. Any advice will be appreciated.
