My son is 23 and has bipolar disorder and has recently gotten his Medicaid card to help with his medical expenses. He has accumulated debt of over $14,000 and I want to know if he should declare bankruptcy. He currently is unemployed.

He could consider it if he has no significant assets and is unable to pay the debts.
