Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

Car loan and credit card bankruptcy

I had a personal bankruptcy about 4 years ago. I had all my credit card bills dismissed. I kept my house and my car, which I still owed on both. My car loan was at a credit union where I had a credit card dismissed because of the bankruptcy. I just made my final payment on the car loan, but was told that would not give me the title because of a levy and required me to pay back the credit card which has been dismissed for 4 years. Can they do this?

Thanks

Re: Car loan and credit card bankruptcy

Not unless they had a valid cross-collateralization agreement. Banks often make misrepresentations on that point. You need to contact your bankruptcy attorney ASAP to resolve this.
