Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and 2007 Taxes
I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy on 02/25/2008. I just picked up my 2007 tax return and we owe $4,000.00. Is it too late for me to inclued the taxes in my chapter 13 payment plan? If it is included in my plan, will I be able to get a refund if I am due on in future years?

Is it too late to include in your plan? No, in fact it could be a problem with the bankruptcy (as well as the IRS) if you did not include them. As for refunds in future years, you will be entitled to the refunds, but you may have to pay them to your plan.
