Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia
Credit Report & Remarriage
I am divorced and my ex is deceased. However, in 1998, before divorcing, we jointly filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I am now engaged to another man and we will be married in 2004. I know that that negative information on my credit report will be with me for a few more years. What I want to know is will it also become a part of his credit report when we are married? Will it negatively impact his ability to receive credit or get loans? He currently has a very good credit report.

Re: Credit Report & Remarriage
Your bankruptcy should not show up on his credit report.
