What type of lawyer do I need to consult if I forclosed on my home and the home equity line of credit has gone to collection? The HELOC was used to purchase the home.

You probably want to consider bankruptcy; but even if not, bankruptcy lawyers should generally understand and be able to advise you if you have any defenses to the collection action. Feel free to contact me, as we handle these matters.
