Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

I had a lawyer look over all of my paperwork & helped with my homestead deed. The trustee said he understood what I was trying to do but had gone about it the wrong way. I am trying to protect my $5k & $500 additional for 3 children. Isn't this form pretty basic? The trustee merely glanced at the form & said it was wrong. I'm risking losing my tax refund & only have 5 days to fix. Can I dismiss if worse comes to worse?

You almost certainly cannot dismiss a chapter 7 when there are assets for the trustee to administer. You need to get this fixed now. You should have hired a lawyer to handle your case to begin with - no one should do their bankruptcy case without a lawyer. Now you need to hire one on an emergency basis to fix what you did wrong, and that will cost you more. Act quickly because of the 5 day deadline.
