Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

past bankruptcy

I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2001 and now find that 2 credit card co.

attached the amount owed to our real estate. They want over 35,000 now...Amount owed was 12,000 total...what can I do...I do not have 35,000 to pay it off?

The only way the creditors could obtain a lien on your property is by getting a judgment, which means you were sued.

Unless you moved to avoid the liens in your bankruptcy, the liens likely remain valid and enforcable against your real estate.
