Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia
Relief under Bankruptcy
On May 14th I filed bankruptcy. On May 19th the telephone company terminated my service. When I contacted the phone company they indicated that they would re-establish service with a new number. My number is a business number and without access to the number I have no way of making any money. Essentially, this action puts me out of business. Can they do this.

No. Your bankruptcy lawyer should be able to call them and get the service turned back on, with the original number, or have the Court compel them to do it. You will probably have to post a new security deposit.
