Rollover ira

Is it possible to know if a rollover ira is

protected from bankruptcy or lawsuits in

the state of virginia? No one seems to have a

straight answer to that question.

There is no straight answer. Virginia exempts

only a portion of an IRA, based on a hypothetical

pension payment after age 65. The exemption amount

depends on your age. You then look it up on a

table in the Virginia Code governing exemptions.
