Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

will bankruptcy help with judgements on nonsecured credit

I have several judgements against me for unsecured credit. The last 2 years I have lost about 50% of my income and couldnt keep up. I would like to pay back some of the money but they only want full payment. My income has started to pick back up this year but still not able to pay in full. I have had one creditor file a summons to answer interrogatories. Would bankruptcy help me now or is it too late?

Certainly bankruptcy would help. It's not too late. You could file a chapter 13 and pay back some of your creditors as you wish.

Make an appointment with a bankruptcy attorney as soon as you can.

A chapter 13 bankruptcy will not only stop creditor collection activity, but will put you on a repayment plan that you can afford and will usually prevent any interest from accruing on unsecured debts. Contact a local bankruptcy attorney, ASAP.
